E-Kugua No.2, a new cultivar of balsam pears, was bred by female parent, F8-1A and male parent F9-1A. It had following characteristics: Sprawling plant, medium ripe, strong growth vigor, the first female flower at about 11.15 joint, fruit with long conical, emerald green, with sharp top, strip alternating with graininess of tumor. The length was 37.28 cm, the diameter was 6.23 cm, the meat thickness was 1.2 cm, and the weight was 547.73 g. It lasted about 76 d from sowing to first harvest, picking time was about 66 d, whole growth duration was about 143 d. The new cultivar had strong growth vigor, long harvest time, no premature senescence, moderate melon type, good commodity, high yield(3 778.69 kg/667 m2), crisp flesh, moderate bitter taste and good taste.
