Abstract: The phenomenon of "garbage surrounding villages" has seriously affected the living and environmental quality of rural residents and has become a huge obstacle to the construction of a new socialist countryside and beautiful China. Using conditional value assessment method(CVM) to design the questionnaire, and taking the rural residents in Yaodu district, Linyi city, Shanxi province as the survey objects, Logistic regression and principal component analysis are used to empirically analyze the willingness of farmers to pay for domestic garbage treatment. The results show that 40.35% of the farmers have the willingness to pay, and are willing to pay an annual average of 70.47 yuan/household for the treatment of domestic waste. The factors affecting the willingness of farmers to pay are: age, health condition, propagandizing of environmental protection concept, policy supervision, education level and job category. Among them, age and health condition have the greatest impact, followed by environmental protection propaganda and policy supervision; education and work have the minimum impact.
