Abstract: An observation experiment site was established in Wushentan Village, Bacheng Town, Kunshan City to observe the water temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, ammonia nitrogen and the growth dynamics of Chinese mitten crabs,to discuss the suitable water quality environment for the growth of crabs. The results showed that the water temperature had the greatest influence on crabs, with sudden changes in temperature or exceeding 30 ℃ leading to their death; dissolved oxygen showed a unimodal distribution during the day, indicating that algae contributed most to it. After mid-July, pH gradually decreased and leveled off, the lower overall value of ammonia nitrogen was beneficial for the growth of crabs. Water temperature around 28 ℃, dissolved oxygen maintained above 4 mg/L, and pH 7.5~8.5 were the suitable growth environment.
