Abstract: In order to explore the microbial resources for Cr(Ⅵ) wastewater treatment under high salt conditions, the underground brine and surrounding soil of Changshan salt mine in Zigong, Sichuan was taken as the research materials in this experiment. Three strains of salt tolerant bacteria N1, N2 and N3 were isolated and purified, identified as Bacillus cereus, Bacillus altitudinis and Shewanella sp. after 16S sequencing. The trend of low concentration promotion and high concentration inhibition was showed when the three strains grew at different NaCl concentrations N1, N2 and N3 strains grew normally under 10% NaCl concentration; when the NaCl concentration reached 15%, N1 strain could grow normally. At the same time, the growth of N2 and N3 strains was inhibited to varying degrees. The results reflected that the salt tolerance of strains was N1 > N2 > N3. N1 strain with the best salt tolerance was selected as the test strain to study the removal effect of Cr(Ⅵ). When concentration of NaCl was 10% and Cr(Ⅵ) was 40 mg/L, the removal rate of Cr(Ⅵ) reached 81.2% after 72 h. The removal speed of Cr(Ⅵ) was positively correlated with cell concentration.
