Establishing the traceability system data transfer model of fresh agricultural products based on IDEF0 tool

Abstract: Food safety has always been the focus of our government and the public. Establishing food traceability system and eliminating information asymmetry were important means to enhance people's confidence in food safety. How to effectively record and transfer data automatically and realize forward flow and backward traceability was the core of establishing traceability system. The results showed that taking the pork product supply chain as an example, collected business information through interviewed and surveyed, described the data transferring process of the agricultural products from breeding, production, and distributions processes by using IDEF0 modeling tool, to clarify the main types of data and information transferring through each process and the internal relationships and interactions among the processes. It was to describe the information flow between each process and reduce the redundancy of data transmission, to promote the information exchange and sharing of each entity in the traceability system. It can also be used as a data optimization tool to improve the implementation efficiency and effect of the system.
