Practice of folk rules embedded in rural environmental governance: Taking Qiaotou village in North China as an example

Abstract: In order to sort out the practical logic of alleviating the failure of rural environmental governance, the in-depth interview, participatory observation and other research methods were used to carry out field research on the environmental governance practice of Qiaotou village in North China. The research found that compared with official rules, folk rules permeated into rural daily life and carried a higher degree of acceptance in village environmental governance. Therefore, taking folk rules as the catalyst can help the environmental governance rules to be fully integrated into the daily life of the village, strengthen the villagers' identity to the environmental governance rules, improve the effectiveness of environmental governance, and correct the failure of village environmental governance.
