Abstract: Regional test results of rape (Brassica napus L.) in Hubei province from 2011 to 2018 show that, currently, rape varieties in Hubei province are mainly selected and bred with high yield, more hybrid varieties, less conventional varieties, more medium and late mature varieties, and less early mature varieties. Rape has made a breakthrough in quality breeding, with the double low variety rate reaching 93%. Sclerotia of rape is common in most years, and resistance breeding needs to be strengthened urgently. The higher plant type is not conducive to mechanized production, and there is an urgent need for plant height dwarfing and dwarf genes.

Key words: rape (Brassica napus L.), varieties, regional test, disease resistance breeding
