Abstract: In order to study the effects of ramie[Boehmeria nivea (L.) Gaudich.] whole plant pellet on growth performance, blood biochemistry and amino acid indexes of Hu sheep, 18 male Hu sheep with similar body weight were randomly divided into 3 groups, with 6 sheep in each group. They were fed peanut rod granules, alfalfa granules and ramie granules respectively, and the concentrate was the same. The results showed that there was no significant difference in initial body weight and final body weight among the three treatment groups(P>0.05). However, in terms of average daily gain, ramie pellet group decreased by 3.41% compared with alfalfa pellet group, and the difference was not significant(P>0.05); But it was 42.82% higher than that of peanut rod granular material group(P<0.05). In terms of blood biochemical indexes, there was no significant difference in serum total protein, albumin, globulin, total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein and low-density lipoprotein among the three treatment groups (P>0.05). In terms of muscle amino acid indexes of Hu sheep, there was no significant difference among the three treatment groups(P>0.05), but ramie granular material had the trend of increasing mutton methionine content, which was 35.62% and 15.12% higher than alfalfa granular material and peanut rod granular material, respectively.
