Abstract: In order to explore the summer maize and soybean intercropping model for Huanggang city,Hubei province,a comparative experiment study was carried out between the summer maize-soybean intercropping model and the conventional monoculture to analyze the yield and economic benefits of different models. The results showed that the economic benefit of maize and soybean intercropping model was significantly higher than that of maize or soybean monoculture, with a profit of 8 150 yuan per hectare. Compared with conventional maize or soybean monoculture, the intercropping model increased income by 2 116 yuan per hectare and 3 670 yuan per hectare, respectively. The economic benefit of intercropping model is considerable, which can provide a theoretical basis for the promotion of summer maize and soybean intercropping technology.
