The impact of social network on farmers' ecological production behavior:Analysis on the differences of different ecological production behaviors

Abstract: Based on the survey data of 695 rural households in Hubei province, Hunan province and Anhui province, this study analyzed the impact of social learning, social trust, social interaction and social reciprocity on farmers' different types of ecological production behaviors in social networks by using ordinal logistic regression model. The results showed that,①the degree of adoption of different types of ecological production behaviors by farmers was not high; ②on the whole, social network had a significant positive impact on farmers' ecological production behavior; ③different dimensions of social network had different impact on different ecological production behaviors, social learning and social reciprocity had significant positive impact on increasing the application of biological pesticides, organic fertilizers and reducing the application of pesticides and fertilizers, social interaction had no significant impact on different types of ecological production behaviors, social trust had significant negative impact on reducing the application of pesticides and fertilizers, there was no significant impact on increasing the application of biopesticide and organic fertilizer. Therefore, we should pay more attention to the impact of social network on farmers' ecological production behavior.
