Abstract: In the context of climate change, based on meteorological data, remote sensing monitoring data, and socio-economic data, the impact of glacier melt water on land cover in the Shannan region of Tibet from 2000 to 2018 was studied. The results showed that the area of glaciers was directly proportional to precipitation and inversely proportional to temperature. With the decrease of glacier melt water, the area of pure pasture on the edge of the glacier in the upper reaches of the grassland was decreased, the area of cultivated land in the middle reaches of the agricultural area was decreased, and the construction land in the downstream rapid urbanization area was expanded. Glacier melt water had a certain impact on land cover. Grassland area was reduced, arable land area was reduced, construction land area was increased, unused land area was increased, woodland area was decreased, and water area was decreased.
