A famous variety of purple Caitai——Hongshan Caitai

Abstract: The cultivation history,growth environment,characteristics,development and utilization,and cultivation techniques of Hongshan Caitai(Brassica rapa ssp.Chinensis var.purpurea) are introduced.Daguzi,the main variety of Hongshan Caitai,is good quality,it is about90~120 days from sowing to harvesting.The plant height is70~80 cm and the plant width is80~90 cm.The surface of the bolt is purplish red,with wax powder.The base of the bolt is thick,the average diameter of the base of the bolt is2.5 cm,the maximum diameter is more than5 cm.The length of the bolt is35~50 cm,and the maximum weight of the single bolt is more than100 g,the average weight is60~80 g.
