Effects of 1-MCP treatment on shelf life quality of Cuiguan pear

Abstract: Pyrus prifolia Nakai cv Cuiguan was used to investigate the effects of 1-Methylcyclopropene treatment with three different concentrations on postharvest shelf life at room temperature. The results showed that 1-MCP treatment could significantly reduce the respiratory intensity and ethylene release of Cuiguan pear, inhibit the peel color turning yellow and maintain the firmness of pulp and improve the rate of good fruit, and significantly extend the shelf life of Cuiguan pear to more than 20 days at room temperature, while the shelf life of Cuiguan pear was only about 10 days. 0.5 μL·L-1 1-MCP treatment could meet the storage requirements of 20 days shelf life at room temperature.
