Abstract: Mungbean (Vigna radiata L.) is an important legume crop in Asia, the germplasm resources are extremely rich and the nutritional value is high. However, its yield and quality are seriously affected by the bean weevil. Therefore, it is urgent to cultivate new varieties resistant to bean weevil. The research progress of mungbean at home and abroad was reviewed from the aspects of germplasm resources, mechanism of resistance to mung bean and genetic mechanism and location of resistance gene in order to supply the useful information to correlation studies.

Key words: mungbean(Vigna radiata L.), bean weevil resistance, germplasm resources, mechanism research, research progress
