Abstract: Selecting early matured maize varieties such as Denghai 618, Weike 711, Zhengdan 958(CK), silage maize variety of Yaqingzhu No.8, and fresh eating corn varieties of Yuetian 16, Jingkenuo 2000, Yuetian 28 and Yunuo No.7 in the spring sowing, followed by direct seeding a late japonica rice variety Tiejing 17 and an early autumn sown rice variety Liangyou 287 into corn stubble, farmers can work under a paddy-upland rotation system, and can get harvest of two crops twice a year. The maximum output of corn kernels of early matured maize sown in spring reached 8 820.0 kg/hm2. The maximum output of direct seeding late japonica rice reached 7 722.0 kg/hm2. The minimum output of kernels of two crops in two seasons reached 15 165.0 kg/hm2. It is proposed that the growth period of early spring matured maize should be controlled within 120 days from March 20(sowing) to July 20 (ripening) with accumulated temperature of 2 600 ℃. The growth period of late japonica rice varieties should be controlled within 100 days with accumulated temperature of 2 360 ℃. The crops are direct seeding with stubble on July 20, full heading around September 17 and ripened before the end of October.
