New cultivars of Lagerstroemia indica Lagerstroemia indica ‘Danzhao Zihuan’ and Lagerstroemia indica ‘Honghuan Danzi’

Abstract

Abstract: The new varieties of Lagerstroemia indica Lagerstroemia indica ‘Danzhao Zihuan’ and Lagerstroemia indica ‘Honghuan Danzi’ were selected through collecting widely seeds of various sources and varieties of crape myrtle, developing of mixed seed grow seedlings and using natural hybridization seedling-selection method. After cultivation experiments, the two new varieties are fine garden flower tree species because they have the characteristics of stable genetic character, wide adaptability, strong stress resistance and high ornamental value, and has been applied in city landscaping.
