Breeding and Application of Red Rice Variety Luotian-Nverhong with High Quality

Abstract

Abstract: Luotian-Nverhong is a new red rice variety from ⁶⁰Co radiation exposure and continuous multi-generation system breeding for native variety Hongmaozhan, and was bred by the Institute of Food Crops of Hubei Agricultural Sciences Academy. This variety has characteristics of high quality, high yield, suitable maturation period, wide adaption and rich nutrition. Thus, it could be one ideal red rice variety for pollution-free high-quality industrial development. The breeding process, characteristics and yield performance of Luotian-Nverhong was mainly introduced.
