Abstract: In order to explore the light characteristics of two new varieties of colored leaves Osmanthus fragrans L. (Qiannan guifei and Ziyan princess), the light response curves of growth peak of 4 different Osmanthus fragrans L. cultivars were measured. The net photosynthetic rate(Pn) of Osmanthus fragrans L. was studied by correlation analysis. The results showed that the net Pn of all osmanthus species increased rapidly with the increase of photosynthetically active radiation(PAR). It stabilized at PAR>200 μmol/(m2·s). There were significant differences in the factors affecting the diurnal variation of net photosynthetic rate. The light saturation point (LSP) and light compensation point (LCP) of two new varieties of sweet-scented Osmanthus fragrans L. were lower than those of the other two varieties, low light utilization efficiency is also stronger, with better shade tolerance.
