Preliminary Study on 1000-Grain Weight of 28 Tetraploid Glutinous Rice Materials in South Propagation

Abstract: To provide a reference for the breeding of polyploid rice(Oryza sativa L.), the 1 000-grain weight of 28 tetraploid glutinous rice materials was inverstigated. The results showed that the percentage of samples with 1 000-grain weight of tetraploid glutinous rice ranging from 30 to 40 grams was the largest, and the number of samples between 40 and 45 grams was follow. Those larger than 45 grams were rare, those smaller than 30 grams were not only rare, but also possible to restore diploid glutinous rice, rather than tetraploid glutinous rice.
