Urban efficiency analysis of Jiangsu province based on DEA model and Malmquist index

摘要: 根据江苏省13个地级市2006—2015年的相关面板数据,运用DEA模型和Malmquist指数对江苏省城市效率及其变化进行了分析。从2015年江苏省城市技术效率的静态分析结果来看,江苏省的城市技术效率普遍较高,但大部分地级市仍未实现资源的有效配置。根据2006—2015年Malmquist生产率指数及分解结果来看,技术水平的进步对于江苏省城市生产率的提高至关重要。因此,江苏省在推动城市发展的进程中需要着重提升技术水平,对生产要素资源进行合理配置,进一步提高城市效率。

Abstract: The urban efficiency and its changes in Jiangsu province were analyzed based on relevant panel data from 13 prefecture-level cities in Jiangsu province from 2006 to 2015 using the DEA model and the Malmquist index. From the static analysis results of urban technical efficiency in Jiangsu province in 2015, the technical efficiency of cities in Jiangsu province is generally high, but most prefecture-level cities still have not realized the effective allocation of resources. According to the annual Malmquist productivity index and decomposition results in the decade of 2006—2015, the advancement of technology level is crucial for the improvement of urban productivity in Jiangsu province. Therefore, in the process of promoting urban development, Jiangsu province needs to focus on improving the technological level, and rationally allocate the resources of production factors to improve that efficiency of the city.
