Abstract: With the improvement of economic development level, the demand for rural aged care is increasing under the dual background of aging urban and rural upside down and rapid urbanization. However, the miniaturization of family structure makes traditional family support facing severe challenges,which has led to the exploration and practice of home care in rural areas. Taking the Liuhe District of Nanjing as an example,the advantages and disadvantages of the rural home-based old-age care through SWOT analysis was discussed, and the opportunities and challenges that the external environment brings to the rural home care model was analysed. It puts forward the development strategy which is beneficial to the rural home care for the aged, and proposes to promote the integration of resources, establish the pattern of complementary resources,give full play to the main position of the government in the rural home care service, improve the professionalism and pertinence of the rural home old-age service,strengthen the publicity and guidance, and enhance the recognition degree of the rural home-based old-age care.
