Abstract: In order to study the relationship of new shoot growth and fruit development, the new shoot length, the longitudinal and transverse diameters of the fruit of the six-year-old Pyrus pyrifolia Nakai Jinbi were measured regularly. The results showed that in Wuhan, the new shoots of Jinbi pear began to grow in late March and stopped growing in mid-June. The length of new shoots increased from 3.24 cm to 68.98 cm, and the growth period was 84 d. There were 2 growth peaks during growth. On April 13th and May 18th, respectively, the fruit of Jinbi pear began to bear fruit from the beginning of April, and the fruit matured and stopped growing in late August, with a growth period of 153 days. The growth of the longitudinal and transverse diameter of the fruit showed a S-shaped curve, and there were two growth peaks during the development, which were in the middle and late April and early June. The growth of new shoots is closely related to fruit growth and development. On April 13th, the new shoots competed with the fruit growth nutrients fiercely, and then gradually weakened. After May 25, the new shoots began to stop growing, and the fruits rapidly expanded and reached the peak of growth on June 8.
